Help Mr. Bee Understand the Results

Mr. Bee has finished testing, but he notices something interesting.

Sometimes the results are not exactly the same, even when the test is repeated.

Let’s look at the data and see what we can learn.

You can complete the challenge with or without a robot. Use pen and paper to solve the story challenge.

Option A: No Robot Needed

You will see example data from Mr. Bee’s tests.

Look carefully at the results and answer these questions:

• Which result is the largest?
• Which result is the smallest?
• Are the results mostly the same or very different?

 

Option B: Robot (Optional)

If you have a robot, try repeating the same test.

1. Choose one power level.
2. Run the same test three times.
3. Record the result each time.

Then think about the results:

• Did you get the same number every time?
• Were the results close together?
