Help Mr. Bee Make a Plan

Mr. Bee wants to test different power levels for his mission.

He plans to try:

• 1.0
• 0.75
• 0.5
• 0.25

But before testing, Mr. Bee needs a plan.

Your job is to help Mr. Bee decide:

• Which power level will go the farthest?
• Which power level will go the shortest distance?
• Which ones will be in between?

Let’s make predictions before testing!

You can complete the challenge with or without a robot. Use pen and paper to solve the story challenge.

Option A: No Robot Needed

Think about the numbers and use your predictions.

Answer these questions:

• Which number will give the largest result?
• Why do you think 0.75 will go farther than 0.5?

 

Option B: Robot (Optional)

If you have a robot, you can start planning your test.

1. Measure the distance the robot travels at full power (1.0).
2. Write down your predictions for the other power levels.
