What exactly is the "Meaning-First" approach?
Most traditional curriculums teach math symbols (1/2 or 0.5) first and explain what they mean later. We flip that. We start with concrete, real-world scenarios so children understand the logic through Project-Based Learning. before they ever have to worry about the symbols.
What grade level is this for?
This specific module is designed for Grades 4 and 5 (Aged 9-11). It is perfect for students encountering fractions and decimals for the first time, or for those who have found traditional school methods confusing.
Is this aligned with school standards?
Yes. While our teaching method is innovative, the content is rigorous. The module covers core Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for 4th and 5th-grade math, including fraction-to-decimal conversion, comparing values, and proportional reasoning.
Who is Mr. Bee?
Mr. Bee is your child’s lead instructor and one of the CircuitMess Wacky Robots! As an expert in electronics, he believes math is the "secret language" of the universe. Rather than just lecturing, Mr. Bee poses challenges and encourages students to think like engineers. He doesn't just provide answers; he teaches your child the logic needed to find them independently.
Does my child really need help from me to finish this?
No. We designed this course to be 100% student-led. Mr. Bee guides your child through every video, activity, and challenge. While you are welcome to observe their "Aha!" moments, no parent instruction or prior math expertise is required.
Is this module useful on its own, even if it doesn't cover the entire school year?
Absolutely. Fractions and decimals are often the "stumbling block" where children start to lose confidence in math. This course is designed as a Standalone Mastery Module. It allows your child to take a deep dive into one of the most challenging areas of the 4th and 5th-grade curriculum. Whether you use it as a dedicated "math intensive" or as a supplement to your existing program, it provides a level of concrete understanding that standard textbooks often miss.
Will this course be useful if my child is already enrolled in a full 4th or 5th-grade math curriculum?
Absolutely! Most families use this module as a "deep-dive" supplement. Because we focus on a "Meaning-First" approach rather than just memorizing rules, it is the perfect tool to help concepts "click" for students who find traditional lessons confusing. It doesn't replace your current program; it enhances it by turning abstract symbols into real-world understanding.
How long does it take to complete the course?
The module consists of 7 story-driven sessions. Depending on your child’s preferred pace, most families complete the journey in 2 to 3 weeks. Since you have lifetime access, your child can take as much time as they need to truly master the concepts.
What if my child makes a mistake or gets stuck?
In the CircuitMess world, mistakes are just "data." Mr. Bee encourages students to test their ideas and revise their thinking. If they get stuck, our interactive prompts are designed to coach them through the logic so they can find the answer independently without frustration.
Do we need a CircuitMess kit to take this course?
This module is a "Blended E-Learning" experience that can be completed entirely through our interactive digital platform. However, for those who want to see math move in the real world, we offer a specialized path that integrates with a CircuitMess kit (like Wheelson) to measure speed and light.
Where can I buy access to Module 3?
You can find our course on major educational marketplaces and ESA direct-pay platforms such as ClassWallet, Step Up For Students, Odyssey Utah, and Odyssey Georgia. Simply search for "CircuitMess Math Course: Fractions & Decimals in Motion (Module 3)" within your provider's marketplace to enroll.
How and when will I receive access to the course?
Once you make your purchase, you will receive an email with your login credentials and setup instructions. Please allow 1–2 business days for our team to process your registration and deliver your access link to the inbox you provided.
Is this a subscription or a one-time purchase?
This is a one-time purchase for Module 3. Once you enroll, you get unlimited lifetime access to the 7 sessions, all digital activities, and any future updates to this specific curriculum.
What devices can my child use to access the course?
The module is fully web-based and mobile-responsive. Your child can use a laptop, desktop computer, mobile phone or tablet (iPad/Android). All they need is a stable internet connection and a modern web browser (like Chrome, Safari, or Edge).
